7 POINTS FOR IMPACT by IDOWU OMISORE (A RCCG YOUTH RETREAT PRESENTATION)

1. VISION
A vision may be defined as a mental picture of a desirable future. Joel 2:28, Proverbs 29:18, Habakkuk 2:2-3(Write your vision). In Jeremiah 1:11, the Lord asked a very important question – What can you see? Many of us look, but few of us see. Dream big, open the eyes of your imagination and see the great future ahead of you. See yourself as a top achiever. God has shown me a vision of teenagers and youths prophesying, manifesting the gifts of the HolySpirit, setting captives of satan free and winning souls. And it is going to happen. I see teenagers, youths and singles here making impact spiritually and academically.
Joseph had dreams of greatness. Sources of vision? 1. The Almighty God (Joel 2:28) 2. The Situations of life, for example; our refineries are not working in Nigeria; you can decide to become a petroleum engineer, or medical doctor, music superstar (Project Fame-Monica). Without a powerful vision, you can never make impact.

2. PASSION
Passion refers to the strong affection, feelings and attention you have for something or someone. Vision without passion = Car without fuel, it doesn’t matter how expensive the car is. Without fuel, it cannot go places. Passion is therefore the fuel for the fulfillment of your vision. Many times, it is even passion that paints a dream or vision in your mind as you develop a deep concern for an issue or problem. Matt. 9:36. There’s the story of two sisters, seven and nine years old respectively, attended Corona School, a school attended by rich people’s children. One day, they went on a visit to a school with very poor environment/facilities, out of the 39 pupils who went to that school, only these two sisters started crying throughout when they saw how poor and wretched that school is. On getting home, they disturbed their parents that they should help the school, the parents brought the matter to the parents and teachers association and they surprisingly raised N3.2 million. The day the school was going to the school to present the cash support to the poor school, the two sisters were hit by stray bullets and died. The lesson is that these sisters had passion to make impact in this school they visited. Out of the 39 kids that visited that school, they were not happy with what they saw and they moved with compassion to help, although they died prematurely, but they definitely made impact. You will not die prematurely in Jesus Name, but you must seek to make impact. You are not just in this world to eat food, drink water, watch football and play games. You are born to make a positive impact.

3. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is the information you have on a subject, or about something. Knowledge is not something you wish for, it is something you make efforts to acquire. When you have knowledge, you will command respect. When you are speaking, people will listen to you with rapt attention. Read good books, radio/TV programs, newspapers, also when you move with knowledgeable people; your knowledge will be increased. Proverbs 13:20.Attend seminars, events, programs organized outside your church, listen to messages; get general knowledge and current affairs. Knowledge improves your speaking, writing, and reading skills. Some people are too lazy to read. You cannot make impact through ignorance. Knowledge makes impact. With knowledge, you can command great influence.

4. ACTIVATING & RELEASING YOUR POTENTIALS
Identify your talents; be determined to look out for opportunities to develop them. Everyone is blessed with talents. Dr. Myles Munroe said the cemetery is the richest place on earth, because many potentials of greatness have been buried there. Alfa Sule powerfully introduced dance drama. There is something you can do; writing, playing musical instruments, acting, singing, dancing, calculating, photography, decoration, event planning. But you cannot fold your hands and expect your talents to show forth on their own. You must activate and release them to make impact. Pastor Kunle Ajayi was not born with a saxophone in his mouth, but he activated and released the ability already placed within him by God.
Prayer point – I will not die with my talents. From today, I begin to activate and release my talents.

5.ACTION (Time Factor)
Lamentations 3:27. Now that you are young, it is time for you to take actions. Be hard working, don’t be lazy. Take steps towards your vision, passion and developing talents. Write that book, produce that album, enroll in that music school, write that exam, attend that program. Act now, act today, and act every day. Procrastination is the graveyard of dreams and the thief of time. Write the goals you want to achieve in 2012. You won’t be young forever. Make the best use of the time you have now. As a student, study hard to be outstanding in your class. You must not end up a disgrace to your generation. Action is important if we must make impact.
Prayer point – I receive the grace to act in Jesus Name. Spirit of laziness hindering my progress, die in Jesus Name.

6. LEADERSHIP
Leadership is responsibility and responsibility is the price of greatness. Stop seeing yourself as a backbencher, always see yourself as a leader. Don’t look down on yourself. We are NOT leaders of tomorrow. We are leaders of today and tomorrow. Leaders are not selfish – they give their time, money and resources for impact. they show concern, they are actively involved in programs/projects. Leaders are not lazy, they are involved and committed to their God-given assignments.

7. FIRE
We need fire to make impact, stay alive and fulfill destiny (tell the story of the sister who woke up to see a short creature on her bed, holding a club in its hand, she command the creature to start hitting itself with the club while she went for her Bible, if she had no fire of God inside her, she would have been killed like a fowl). To heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, set satan’s prisoners free, to do signs and wonders, to defeat the enemies of God(Ephesians 6:12), to save souls, we need the Baptism of Fire, not just speaking in tongues. Isaiah 61:1. Acts 2:1-4. When you receive fire in your inner man, you will begin to demonstrate the power of God and make impact. Reading the Bible, praying and preaching become easier and sweeter. See what God is doing through Pastor Adeboye. But first, you must be genuinely saved. You must have sincerely repented of your sins and accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Then you must desire purity of heart, if you get a pure heart, then you are ready for Fire. You must desire this fire with all your heart and believe that you will experience the Fire Baptism now as we pray.
